Character Final

Compared to the previous version, I added the glass vials at the bottom because the belt looked like it was for a shotgun and that it was a bullet holder, where in fact it was vials of herbal potions. I also added more rips on the jeans and fixed the boots and added laces on it. The bandage indicates that she got wounded along the way when she was on her journey to find the portal.

Character: Lead Role, Raziel

‘A sci-fi fantasy game where you play Raziel, someone who has lost her memories from when she was a young child. Now grown up, she wants to find more about herself and the strange symbols on her machete and bow and arrow, found near her when she was found, and the symbol on the cloak she was wearing when found. Join her in this journey of self-discovery and uncover her past that lays hidden inside.’

• Backstory – Raziel barely remember who she is and where she came from, all she knows is that she was found and was taken care of by someone acting as her mother figure, Aleya. Now she wants to find out more about herself so she set off on a journey of self discover and more.
• Childhood – barely remembers childhood as she was found at the edge of the jungle at the age of 6 with the machete laying on the ground and the bow and arrow around her, the rest of her childhood was spent learning to adapt to a new world that seems so unfamiliar.

Vehicle Final

My vehicle final was pretty much a cross between the top row and I added the inscription near the crystal which says blood power, indicating that it requires blood to start. The bolts running through it shows that the vehicle is energised and has power.

These are my completed scenes which are mainly used in the interactive narrative. I’ve used effects on some areas to achieve a more textured look.

 

Code: Final Image #4

For my fourth and final image, I chose the word ‘code’. I looked into it a bit more and found different types of codes such as a QR code, bar code, etc.

I then had the idea of putting a bar code on a person which refers to human trafficking and how people are sold like they are mere objects. I thought of the kind of setting they would be in and thought of how they portrayed it in movies.

I imagined it as dilapidated rooms and somewhat dirty like it was also used for drug dealings.

This scene from the movie ‘Taken’ was also an ideal background for my image.

I also looked at how a person would look looking off to the side but with a bar code below the nape of their neck.

I ended up with this image at the end and cropped the first background image so that it would suit to my liking. I also added a wash of yellow/white tint over her head to simulate the look of a lightbulb over her shining down.

 

 

Movement: Final Image #2

For my second final image, I chose the word ‘movement’ but instead of doing something that depicts movement or describes it, I have decided to create an image for a lack of movement which I think is a different way of thinking when it comes to the word.

I was inspired by the upcoming holiday which was Halloween and my mind just started thinking of different ways I could incorporate that into the word as one of my ideas and finally as one of my finals. I thought of the movie ‘Clockwork Orange’ which had a scene where the eye was restricted of movement like it was being prepared for an examination or experiment.

For me, it gives a sense of frightfulness and makes people feel horrified by the fact that their eyes are about to be sliced open for examination.

I then started thinking of a unique way to create the picture and decided that I wanted some element of something mythical, a legend or supernatural. I liked the idea of  amber/yellow eyes which is usually seen on lycanthrope or a werewolf other than in the twilight series where the vampires had the amber eyes. I started researching more werewolf pics for ideas and came up with these pictures.

The last two images are from the TV series called ‘Teen Wolf’ which is mostly about werewolves.

At the end I ended up with this image which is a werewolf being examined by a sadistic group of scientist and are hungry for knowledge about their species. The individual is still in their human form except for the eyes which can be clearly seen as otherworldly. Its a color that’s not seen on any human and the bloodshot eye I think adds to the whole distress of the one being examined.

Kickstarter: Video Still

I made three designs and ideas for the video still and finally decided to create the last one instead of the first two.

Propaganda: Final Image #3

For my third final image I decided to do an image of V from ‘V for Vendetta. I looked at images from the movie and took somethings from that to begin with for my images.

I got the idea of having the word ‘revolution’ from the image above and I replaced the ‘v’ with the trademark sign used by V to let the British tyranny know that he’s been at a particular place.

I also looked towards this image for reference and to be able to recreate the mask more accurately. I also got the idea of the almost all black background here but I decided to put some light source to the right side to make it seem like he’s holding a torch from the side or someone shone a light on that side and caught him sneaking around planning things that would cause chaos for the government.

The mask, nowadays, is associated with anonymity and are used more by people protesting against controversial stuff and they don’t want to be recognized. Internet hacking societies also use this mask as their trademark because ,I think, of the movie.

I created this on Adobe Photoshop CC using the basic tools and did the typography on my own.

After getting some feedback I  have decided create a different approach towards the final image and used the anonymous groups logo as an inspiration, I also used the recent events as inspiration.
